Jamè - never
Janm - never

Jamè is a French word for never. In French it is written as jamais
Janm is the creole word derived from jamais.

In Haitian Creole we use both jamè and janm
Negative sentence = pa janm, or pa jamè

'poukisa', 'pouki' is the Haitian Creole words for 'why'.
'paske' is the Haitian Creole word for 'because'.

    Why are you happy.

    I’m happy because I’m in love


2. Poukisa ou fache?
    Why are you angry?
    M fache paske m grangou.
    I'm angry because I'm hungry.


3.  Poukisa ou wo konsa?
     Why are you so tall?  
    M wo paske papa m wo.
    I'm tall because my dad's tall


4. Poukisa li grangou?
    Why is he hungry?
    Li grangou paske li poko manje.
    He's hungry because he hasn't eaten yet.


5.  Poukisa yo la?
    Why are they here?
   Yo la paske yo bezwen ou.
   They're here because they need you.

    Why are you looking at me?

If you're wondering what the difference is between 'bon' and 'bònn'.  The difference comes from the gender accord in the French language.  'Bon' is used with masculine nouns, and 'bònn' is used with feminine nouns.  There's no gender accord in Creole.  It is best to memorize the few ones that you find in Haitian Creole.

Phonics for "OU" and its contracted form "W"

"w" is the contracted form of Haitian Creole "ou".

Part1
"w" or "ou" both translate the words 'you, your, and yours'
Examples:
papa ou - your father
papa w - your father

M renmen ou - I love you
M renmen w - I love you

Ou ap dòmi. - You're sleeping.
Wap dòmi. - You're sleeping.

Sa se pa ou la. - This is yours
Sa se pa w la. - This is yours


Part 2
Haitian Creole speakers often use "w" instead of "ou" in writing and speaking.
"w" comes after words that end with nasal and non nasal vowels only.
Examples:
manman w - your mother
kò w - your body
chapo w - your hat
M rele w - I call you
Nou kwè w. - We believe you.

Part 3
"w" does not come after words that end with a consonant.
"ou" is used instead.
Examples:
pitit ou - your child
t ou - your head
machin ou - your car
pawòl ou - your word
M konprann ou - I understand you
